Gibbs the miniature schnauzer passed away February 25, 2021 as a result of prostate cancer. He was part of a family LVMC membership since 2014, when he joined that family from a previous life clouded in mystery. Gibbs enjoyed many LVMC hikes that outing hosts considered acceptable for canine participation. He also summited some of the Classic LVMC 50 peaks, including all the major Spring Mountain peaks, and earned his full name, Gibbs McFarland. Gibbs enjoyed many LVMC camping trips, and the camaraderie of the groups at camp, participating in trips to Boundary Peak, Ruby Dome, Currant Mountain, Humphreys Peak, Signal Peak, and many others.

Gibbs’ family extends sincere and heartfelt thanks to the many LVMC members that kindly shared their hikes and camps with Gibbs. Many members encouraged him, shared a snack, and provided an assist on class 3 terrain. Please know that Gibbs loved being out on the trail with you and the affection you shared.
