Descriptions of Awards
LVMC's Classic 50 Peaks Award - Awarded to the club member that completes all 50 of LVMC's Classic 50 Peaks, click here for list. Some of them are straightforward and tame and others are remote and treacherous.
Lee Stout Award - In recognition of tremendous contributions in Leadership, Education, Safety and Adventure to the LVMC Membership.
Most Improved Award - Awarded to the member most improved in mountaineering, climbing or hiking.
Service Award - Awarded for dedication to the LVMC membership, not necessarily in outdoor pursuits such as training or leading trips, but in other ways beneficial to the membership.
Training Award - Awarded for outstanding dedication to training of LVMC members.
Volunteer Award - Awarded to the member who participates in the most volunteer outings for the year.

Lee Stout Award - Harlan Stockman
Harlan is an invaluable resource. Besides leading some amazing trips each year, he's always available to help Club members plan their own adventures. From advising on routes to offering expert knowledge on gear to sharing GPS coordinates, he is a fountain of prized information. He definitely possesses the leadership needed to earn the club's most prestigious award, and we're so lucky to have him in our group.
Service Award - Beth Ransel
Elected club treasurer in July 2008, Beth has proven to be a huge asset to the Club and the board. She took initiative to establish a budget for the Club, and she makes sure each month the board sticks to it. Additionally, she reliably schleps the club's salable merchandise to the general meetings and diligently works the membership table where she helpfully answers new members' questions. Her service to LVMC is greatly appreciated.

Lee Stout Award - John "Snafu" Mueller
The Lee Stout is the club’s most prestigious award. It is presented to the person who exhibits continued leadership and strength in the outdoors and embodies the spirit of the club. Snafu does all that and more. We are so fortunate to have him in our club. Snafu, you rock!!!
Most Improved Award - Annalisa Helm
Over the last year, Annalisa has made great strides on the rock. Her peers have recognized her for safely pushing herself and growing noticeably as a climber. Well done, Annalisa!
Service Award - Amy Brewster
She’s just one of those people you can always count on. Amy keeps our website up and running and leads some great trips each year. This is not the first time she has won this award, and she always deserves it. Thanks for all your hard work, Amy!
Training Award - Chris Ransel
We are so fortunate to have someone as willing to share his knowledge and skills in the outdoors. Every year he comes through with some great training classes. We truly appreciate you, Chris!
